+How it Works

• Indian classical music has been known for ages for its potential to relieve the symptoms of certain ailments of the body and the mind. Music Therapy has been popular since ancient times. It was known as the Gandharva Veda in Ayurveda. It flourished during the time of the great musician Tansen from Mughal Emperor Akbar’s court.
• The three major energy centres or Doshas of our body maintain the balance of health at their optimum levels. Imbalance of these energy centres gives rise to different ailments
• In modern days, to aid in the treatment of the diseases, different Ragas are modified and played in an organised manner for a specific stipulated time
• Ayurveda identifies that Arthritis is an ailment of the most active energy centre Vat Dosha. The joints which are the seats of Vat Dosha, are balanced and maintained by the Shleshak Kalpa. Any imbalance in the two will lead to improper functioning of the joints resulting the painful condition of Arthritis
• Two different Ragas of different times have been used to treat the ailment
• Track 1 based on Raag Hindol played on Veena is to be heard between 3 am and 7 am. Track 2 based on Raag Madhuwanti played on Sarod is to be heard between 3 pm and 7 pm
• The calming music engages the attention of the brain and creates a diversion from pain signals, thus the body experiences alleviation of chronic arthritic pain
• The sweet notes from the Veena and Sarod together create an ambience of relaxation and soothing relief. The powerful vibrations from these stringed instruments impact the body deeply thereby improving bone health
